I have loved these on other people's blogs, but I needed one that would fit in an envelope ;) So I adjusted some numbers and BOOM it fits in a standard sized envelope. I will share my secret with you because I know you are itching to make one of these!!!
Here is how:
Explosion Box Happy Birthday Card
- Cut a 9 x 5 1/2" piece of card stock
- Score along the 9” at 2 1/8”, 4 ¼”, 6 3/8” and 8 ½”
- Rotate 90’ and with the 5 ½” side on the top, score at 2 ¾
- Use a scrap of the cardstock to make a 3 1/8 x 3 1/8, score in from each side ½ inch, and then cut in half. These are your z strips.
- Take the main piece of cardstock so that the 2 ¾ side is at the top, cut along the scored lines, trim off the tiny strip left over.
- Fold on the creases and use the sticky strip on the small flap to adhere the box together
- Adhere the z strips inside the box (these will be your panels to stick your embellishments on that you want to pop out of the box)
- HINT: Keep “closing” your box to make sure you are lining things up.
- Stamp images and cut out using the big shot
- Use punches to cut stamped circles, one large solid circle and one small circle
- Glue all parts to card
Don't you LOVE it??!!! So cute right??
